The Owners

  Doug and Jana Van Polen are no strangers to small town country living. With Doug growing up on the family farm in Eddyville, Iowa and Jana, from the neighboring community of Albia, you could say are southern Iowa, small town kids. 

The Van Polen’s journey led them to the metro life of Des Moines, where their love of people, community, and business propelled them into the creation of VPGroup, a company consisting of salons, spas, and institutes. After opening multiple locations in their 20 years of entrepreneurship, the Van Polen’s decided their next venture would reflect their hometown roots and their continued love of bringing people together. This vision is the Gathering Grounds.
