The Gathering Grounds is an estate where dream weddings come true. We are situated on 100 acres just 45 miles south of Des Moines. Our venue features views of sunsets reflecting off an 8 acre lake surrounded by abundance of wild life and mature trees. 

The Gathering Grounds is an extended stay venue with separate lodge. You may choose from a variety of ceremony locations throughout the grounds including a lakeside arbor. Our premier venue, the Waterfront Barn, features modern clean lines in a soft color palette to accent any wedding vision. Comfortable seating for 300 guests on the main area, The Waterfront Barn also offers additional seating on the mezzanine level. Envisioning a lakeside wedding, yet concerned about the unpredictable lowa weather? The Waterfront Barn is complete with a heated, open veranda.
